Psalm 139:13b-18

"Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.  How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!  If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee."

Ultrasound Pictures

Her face is blurry because of the movement of sucking her thumb.  It was so cute to see on the screen, the picture unfortunately didn't capture the moment well.

You can see her left foot clearly and her right foot is right behind and next to it (you can see the heel).

Baby Name

Since we know the baby is a girl, we were able to decide on a name (knowing the gender cuts the options in half!). We are no longer keeping it a secret! We have decided to name our baby girl Elisabeth Dawn Peragallo.  We have not agreed on a nickname yet, but we still have 4 months to decide!  On Sunday, November 20th, I was 23 weeks along.  Our due date is March 20th.

IT'S A GIRL!!

We had our 20-week ultrasound on Friday, October 28th, which happened to be my parents, Gene and Dawn’s, 22nd anniversary!  We decided shortly after getting pregnant that we would find out if it was a girl or a boy and were surprised at how quickly that day arrived! :-)  My whole family, Dad, Mom, Jordan, and Danielle met us at our house just before the ultrasound.  Eagerly we piled into the cars, and were off to St. Mary’s hospital; the closest hospital offering ultrasounds that accommodated our schedules.

After signing in, we all sat anxiously in the waiting room.  Upon being called, we were informed only one other person could accompany me during the ultrasound.  My heart (and jaw) dropped!  The technician explained that afterwards everyone else could come in and take a look.  When we began the ultrasound, the technician started looking around and stopped on the baby’s face.  As she focused in, we could see that the baby was sucking its thumb!  It was so precious!  The little jaw was moving up and down with the tiny fist pressed against the mouth.  God is so amazing!  At a fetal age of only 18 weeks, the baby was performing normal baby functions.  It just affirmed what a wonderful Creator we have!  The necessary measurements of the baby were taken, and then my family was invited in to take a look.

We all looked on as the view focused in on the tiny little face.  And much to our delight, the baby brought a hand to its face and tossed its head until the wee thumb landed right in the mouth!  Again, the adorable sucking action started up as we all audibly “awed”.  We all looked on expectantly as the technician tried to determine the baby’s gender.  She scrolled back and forth across the pelvic area…but there seemed to be nothing between the baby’s legs!  Finally, she said she was pretty sure it was a girl.  Dad wistfully replied, “Can you keep looking?” causing a chuckle to pass through the room.  After the ultrasound we all exchanged joyful hugs.  As I squeezed my Daddy, I sheepishly apologized that it wasn’t a boy.  He heartily assured me that it was all right, he was used to girls anyways! :-)
